Most parishes have established local Community Emergency Teams to co-ordinate the Parish Emergency Plan and to offer practical assistance in setting up and manning Rest Centres to provide emergency shelter for persons evacuated from their homes in an emergency.

If you would like to be involved as a volunteer in helping your community improve their resilience in an emergency situation please contact the Community Emergency Team leader or Parish Clerk.

If you would need specific assistance in being evacuated in an emergency, for example because you are elderly, have difficulty walking, are bedridden, or unlikely to be able to hear an evacuation warning etc, you may wish to let the local Community Team know now so that they could offer you assistance as necessary in an emergency situation. Alternatively, you can register here on-line.
